Exposing Kids How To Be Grown Up By Using Role Play Furniture

By Paula Jervis Fitzgerald

One of the hardest things with being little kid is watching all the older people do things that they keep getting told to stay away from. They know that you do not want them to get hurt by handling tools or getting too close to the stove, but they can feel that they just want a chance to prove their worth and learn how things are done. Sometimes, they get that chance with role play furniture in school using children's play equipment.

Children's role play furniture mimics the real thing, but on a much smaller scale with out the dangers real tools and stoves present to them. They might use the play shops to pretend they are doing the same things they want to do at home.

They learn how things are used using the school play equipment. This is a hands on learning experience where they should be able to play freely using children's role play furniture, but a teacher can watch while informing them of what tool or utensil is used for in everyday life.

This is where they might begin to be taught how to properly handle equipment and take care of of it. They can pretend they are wiping down things like mommy and daddy so they can be kept in good shape to be used over again.

As they do things repeatedly and the same issues are presented to them on proper handling and care, this will eventually become instilled in them and they will automatically know how to behave in certain situations.

By using school play equipment, children put themselves in the position of the adults. They get to gain an understanding of how some things really works and why somethings are handled the way they are.
