Nashville : Learn About

Nashville is in the State of Tennessee, where it is in fact the capital of the state of Tennessee. If you were to Google a map of the state of Tennessee and to try to find Nashville, you would find it located in the north central part of the said map.

There are many famous festivals that occur in the Nashville, TN area including: the Iroquois Steeplechase, the The Country Music Association Music Festival, the Fourth of July Festival, the Tomato Art Festival, African Street Festival, the Tennessee State Fair, the CMA Awards. As you can see, the range of events in Nashville, Tennessee are quite diverse.

The Iroquois Steeplechase is a steeplechase which is a form of horse racing. It's name comes from a reference to early races which the course of the event was indicated by reference to the points of the steeples of the local churches.

The CMA Music Festival is a four day festival in the month of June which has featured a number of musical performances by stars of country music. All of the kinds of things that you might come to expect at a country music festival occur there. Mass celebration occurs. The festival draws over 400 artists, or other celebrities relevant to the country music culture, who perform in one of the many concerts offered throughout the festival.

Of course, the CMA Music Festival is not the only country music event in town.. There is also the CMA Awards in November,as well as the Country Music Marathon. The CMA Awards are televised on the TV channel ABC. Interestingly enough, the Country Music Association Awards also give a Personality of the Year award to nine lucky radio personalities.

Nearly 6,000 men and women went to the first iteration of the Country Music Marathon in the year 2000. Then, in 2008 there were nearly 30,000 entrants. The route of the Nashville Country Music Marathon starts with Centennial Park and ends outside of LP Field.

The daily newspaper in Nashville is Tennessean. There are several other newspapers in Nashville, including: The Nashville Pride, Nashville Business Journal, Nashville Scene and The Tennessee Tribune.
