Music is More Like Painting

By John Mason

Music has been part of our human civilization since our existance. No part of human history didn't have some form of music.

Since the primitive times our forbears are already musicians making use of materials available to them as they were able to create musical instruments. Making use of animal skin they made their own version of drums and they used these musical instruments during their different feasts and rituals.

We humans can easily be moved when anyone touches our emotions and that's exactly how mostly all of us finish up loving music. Music has the ability to touch or even control our emotions. Similar to music, painting and paintings can bring out emotions that we didn't know we had.

Let us look at history and learn exactly how music touches the feelings of the people. During a tribal war in the ancient times they always brought with them a kind of drum corps. The obligation of the drum corps is to continually play battle hymns to galvanize and augment the morale of the soldiers. In the American Civil war there had been also drum corps playing all kinds of tunes dependent on the situation, in a war they'd play fast and brave tunes hoping to touch the emotion of the infantrymen making them go with the beat of the drums. When the Titanic crashed into an iceburg and slowly sunk into the deep cold sea musicians constantly played calm and assuring tunes in order to stop folks from panicking.

Painting can also be traced back through history in that painters, taking oil painting workshop classes and the likes, and paintings became icons of that time. Since the traditional times folks have discovered the benefits of music as it not only sooths our feelings it can also basically influence us on how we act. By instinct, folks impulsively follow their emotions, if we hear a beautiful love song we tend to fall head over heels in love and incentivize to court the woman that we like. If we listen to fast rock music we also feel like that there is a feeling of pressure that we have a tendency to move fast and swiftly. And when it's time to lay back and relax we listen to acoustic renditions and classical music to tone down our nerves and help us to chill. That explains why music since times long past was widely acknowledged as a type of art with no question.
