A Quick Look At How To Come Up With Hand Made Wooden Kitchen Utensils

By Liliana Meadows

Hand made wooden kitchen utensils have been around for centuries. If you are looking to come up with these beautiful creations, a few steps outlined below can be very useful. All you need is just some little experience with tools and common sense.

A good workman always collects tools and material he needs before commencing of work. In this project, you'll need tools such as a saw, a chisel, sandpaper, a knife and a pencil. You will also need a maple board and a piece of paper.

Once you have all you need, you'll need to make good designs. A good design essentially details the relevant dimensions and what the product should look like in the end. It's always good to have a design because it acts like your map throughout the project.

Once you have your design, you will need to transfer it to the ground. One way to do that is to make outlines on the maple board using your pencil. You will then cut along these lines you have drawn on the board using your saw. It's always good to be careful while doing this to avoid destroying the piece of board.

You will also need to curve out what you are making. For instance, the handle of a spoon needs to be curved to give it that cute look. To do this, you will use your knife or scriber.

Once you have your curves, you will need to hollow your spoon or bowl. Of course if you are making a knife this will not be relevant. To hollow out the bowl, you will need a chisel.the best to use is a medium gouge chisel. Remember not put in a lot of force to avoid damaging the spoon.

The last and final step is the finishing. This basically involves you sanding the surfaces of your utensils. You can also apply some finish on to the surface to give your utensils that extra twinkle. Those few steps should be enough for making hand made wooden kitchen utensils. hand made wooden kitchen utencils
