7 Worst Enemies of Success

By Jimmie Buroughs

Success is everybody's dream though not everybody's experience. Success like anything else must be planned; the beginning of that plan should be junking the enemies that obstruct you from reaching your chosen goals in life. Below are the 7 best enemies of success:

1. Procrastination.

2. Preparation with little action

3. Negative attitude

4. No people skills

5. Poor finance skills

6. Blaming others.

7. Not recognizing opportunities

Procrastination

I imagine almost everybody has procrastinated at one time or more. Actually for me it's usually been a bothering problem to overcome. It is easy for me to just wait until tomorrow. I have had to force myself on many occasions to commence and complete the task at hand.

There are six common causes of procrastination:

1. Thinking to long about starting: This can have extraordinarily negative results."To think too long about doing a thing regularly becomes its undoing." Eva Young. Many things in life have a limited opportunity, and if action is delayed too long, time will choose for us and the opportunity will be closed.

2. Indecision: Not having the ability to make one's mind up. The power to make fast and accurate choices is a mark of becoming successful and indecision is a mark of failure.

3. Fear of failure: Some apprehension is ordinary in beginning any endeavour. It can really complement what we do, if it creates a strong in depth incentive to apply 100% to the project to avoid failure.

4. Fear of success: The idea of not having the ability to deal with all the responsibilities that come with success can be threatening and could result in a person to need to put it off until they think they are more able to cope with it. The best thing is to wade right on in and adjust as needed.

5. Not desiring to start now: If I can just wait and start tomorrow: ''. Anybody can do any amount of work, provided it is not the work he is supposed to be doing at that moment." รข€" Robert Benchley, in Chips off the Old Benchley, 1949

6. Shortage of abilities or data: The concept of waiting till the skills and data is gained seems to appear sensible and also reduce the chance of failure. Nevertheless the better approach is to apply the data and skills as you learn them as you continue to chase your ambitions.

The cure for the above is an understanding that others could care less about what you do, success or failure; they are too wound up in their own Problems and pursuits to pay much attention to yours. So do not be concerned about what others think; just tell yourself you can and if required learn as you go.

Preparation with very little action

I?ve known of those people that became pro scholars and never got to where they felt that they were prepared enough to become successful. One of the greatest keys to success is the power to do something. When a new talent is learned or new knowledge is gained, put it into action immediately.

Negative perspective

One of the most significant calls we make concerning our success is the disposition we choose. It's very important to know that perspective is a case of choice. When you remember the contrast between a negative attitude and a positive one, it would be insane to choose the negative. A negative attitude leads to failure, unhappiness, bad relations, health issues, and Problems at home and work. Negative perspective produces stress and stress is believed to be a major cause of heart problems, cancer and death. What sane person knowing the outcome of a negative attitude would purposely choose it over a positive disposition. A sustained negative approach will kill you as dead as a mackerel.

Approach is one thing we can't blame on any person but ourselves. It doesn't come because of outside occurrences; it comes from inside us. When you begin to understand the power of that statement it can change your whole life and turn it around for the good. The hidden secret to perspective is how we respond to experiences outside ourselves and not letting them create our attitude.

At the day's close, look back and. Guage the experience you had that day and figure out how you answered, whether in a negative way, or a positive way. Then for the times you responded in a bad fashion, determine how you may have modified it and made it positive as an alternative. It does take time and practice to convert a bad perspective to a positive one, but you've got the power within to do it, and the results are going to motivate you to continue to make the switch from negative to positive.

The rewards one receives for a positive attitude are gigantic. Folks love to be with positive folk, buy from them, and be their mate. A positive attitude will lead on to contentment and success.

No social skills

People abilities are a downright need for success. Once in a while you may encounter entrepreneurs who have no people skills, and you wonder how they may be able to remain in business. I'm thinking of a woman who runs an RV park in Virginia who is so nasty that she literally runs clients off who swear never to return. I knew a man who ran a shoe store who sold big name brand shoes at a discount. I went in twenty four hours to buy a pair of shoes and he treated me so rude that I had to assert, Sir do you understand that I have acquired several pairs of shoes from you over time. Then he settled down and became a small nicer. I went to a grass mower repair shop that also sold parts, and the owner was one or the rudest, most miserable people I've ever seen. I never returned.

Being courteous, understanding how to talk to others, treating them with respect are the basics of social abilities. Not to grasp them can only ever be the results of gross stupidity.

Poor finance talents

It matters little how successful you could be earning money if you don't know how to manage it. People with very large incomes occasionally live from hand to mouth because they are so overextended and are barely able to pay their bills. It is actually not how much you earn that determines your success, but how well you handle what you do earn. Read10 ways for mastering your financial affairs in 2012...

Blaming others

Nobody is to blame for you failure but you. Blaming others is a "Victim Mentality". It is the opinion that everything wrong in life is actually because somebody else caused it. The truth is you are a failure, if that is so because of you. You are accountable for your life?no one else. If you should happen to feel you've got to rely on others to make the choices for you in life then expect a lot of bad stuff. Stand up and be responsible. Make your own choices; be different if necessary; stand alone if you've got too. Take the courage to live your own life. "Everybody dies although not everyone lives." Drake

Not recognizing opportunities

Failing to realise a chance when it comes your way can be a leading cause of failure. Some see failure written all over every opportunity while other only see dollar signs.

3 things to go looking for to spot opportunities:

1. Observe changes: in trends, laws, etc. Changes often present opportunities for those with keen insight that can identify changing needs. For instance a school boy back in 1931 when the gold standard was removed from backing the greenback, invested all of the cash he had saved into gold coins and was a millionaire by the point he graduated high school because he knew with the change of law that gold would increase tremendously in cost. Another example is Gerber baby foods; they realized the opportunity developing with a trend; the baby boom after World War Ii was going to need lots of baby food, so they set up their business to supply it and made fortunes.

2. Prospect for opportunities: Keep abreast of new technology as it emerges and be one of the first to take advantage of it.

3. Observe what's mainline in the business world: Keeping in step with what is in demand can end up in golden opportunities.

Conclusion

The 7 Greatest Enemies of Success aren't troublesome to address and overcome when you understand them and have a grit to get rid of them. Probably a lot of individuals who have a negative perspective, for example, don't understand what it is doing to them re their success and their health. Now that you do understand these things, it's time for you to make the change.
