There comes a time in every baseball players life where he has to make a decision. The decision of sacrifice. I am not talking about when to lay down a bunt and move runners over. I am speaking of the sacrifices that players must make to reach the success they are looking for. Everyone likes to sit back and admire how talented professional athletes are, but very rarely does anyone recognize the countless hours of practice they spent trying to reach that goal!
I was always one of the hardest workers on the team. The sad reality of the matter, in hindsight, I didn't work hard enough! I came to this realization after watching an interview with one of my favorite actors. During the interview he explained how hard he had worked every single day perfecting his craft and becoming the talent he had worked so hard to be. What amazed me the most, was the passion with which he spoke!
I sat their doubting if I had that same passion for anything in my life! At that moment I made the decision to get back into baseball and reignite a passion I thought I had lost. My question for you is, do you have the type passion for baseball that is going to make you succeed?
Only a select few individuals will ever fully succeed in their lifetime. Mainly because success is difficult. It takes sacrifice and hard work. Are you willing to make sacrifices in your life and add another daily baseball batting training session or a run that extra mile. It means giving up time and other activities to fuel your success. Are you willing to make those sacrifices?
For most of you, it will be how you conduct your baseball training sessions! What batting techniques do you need focus on? What fielding or pitching techniques do you need to improve? Design a game plan today, and fulfill that plan!
To give you idea of the passion and effort I want to see you give, I have included the link to the interview I watched below. I hope this inspires you, the same way that it has inspired me!
