Who Is Your Worst Enemy?

By Emmanuel Van Der Meulen

Where is our human species headed? For extinction! Why? We are in competition with each other. We are in competition with nature. We are even in competition with ourselves. We don't even care what we do to ourselves.

We give up on ourselves. We give up on our dreams. Harsh statements, yet facts. Let's inspect oppression. Many examples exist where oppression was rife. And where it is still rife today. Slavery. Racism. Communism. Apartheid. The aforementioned are fairly easy to recognize as oppression. If you disagree with the above, no problem. Yet, bear with me. There are less easy to comprehend yet more such oppression examples in other guises, for instance, greed, abuse, spitefulness and so forth.

We recognize oppression. We'd prefer that no one oppresses anyone. We'd prefer that the oppressed are freed. When the oppressed are freed, their dynamics change and their quality of life almost certainly improves.

Do you concur with my above assertions? Here's the main point. Our biggest oppressive system has free reign over our lives. It affects each and every one of us. Yet, it seems we're unaware of it.

First an example. Let's take any of the oppressive systems. I'll use greed as one. But the following applies to all oppressive systems. Because of greed, eventually the human species will run out of natural resources, and due to there being no sustenance, as a species we'll perish. Remember this dynamic applies to all oppressive systems.

Therefore despite our special talents, we'll eventually self-destruct. But wait! You might not be greedy! You might not be an oppressor or feel you're not oppressed. However, because there is greed, you'll be affected. No matter what.

Take this a step further, difficult as it might seem, we're all on the same path. Take this further by another step. Our different nationalities, as we metropolitanize, take on some of the other nationality's values. Taking this dynamic all the way, we could become an indistinct people.

I predict, certain people, albeit only a few at first, will stand up to the oppressors. To take this step, these dynamics are at play. 1. Live our optimal life. 2. Address why we're not already living our optimal life.

This brings me back to the most oppressive systems that affect each one of us. "The underlying reason we give up on ourselves." All other oppressors pale in comparison. Now for the next question. "Are you at a tipping point in your life? Are you where you've had enough? Are you at a tipping point where you want to address having given up on yourself and uncover and live your natural life?" In this way, standing up for yourself against your oppressor, you - yourself, unbeknown to you until now...
