Getting A Coach's Help With Work Problems

By Lindsay Barnes

If you occasionally feel burned out from work, you're not alone.. We all hit that wall every now and then, and what we do is pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and then allow life to return to normal. It's all just part of being an employee, experiencing boredom sporadically, complaining about bosses, complaining about coworkers, and feeling overwhelmed by the workload that we have to handle. It's not necessarily a sign that you're sick of your job, just that there are details about your job that can get you down. However, there are some signs that you should look out for that mean that you are really unhappy in your job or even in your chosen field. Such signs may mean that you have to start anew in a different company or industry or you simply have to go through a coaching workshop to rediscover your enthusiasm for your work or to improve yourself and prepare to achieve more.

One sign that work is having a bad effect on you is if you are taking your frustrations out on your family and your loved ones. Complaining about your boss and your day is normal, but it's not a good thing if you're lashing out at your family thanks to unresolved issues at work or frustrations you can express to your boss or your coworkers.

Another sign is that you have the desire to move on, or to start your own company, but have no idea how to go about it. This is a pretty interesting set of problems. It certainly doesn't sound like a good thing if all that is holding you back from bolting from your job is an inability to get started on the venture you're dreaming of.

Sometimes, a terrible workplace causes you to feel actual physical pain due to stress. Of course, the symptoms aren't just physical. A bad workplace causes you to feel uneasy and on edge all the time, and you're also not feeling a sense of accomplishment and pride in what you do. The politics in your office is getting quite dirty, and the office is certainly seeming more than a little vicious, making you worry about your chances of survival.

These are just a few of the signs that let you know that something is wrong with your company, and that it may be time for you to seek help in dealing with it or in starting afresh altogether. Consulting a coach and getting motivational coaching will help you figure out whether you simply need to make some adjustments at work. If not, your coach can help to increase your determination to try something new and to encourage you to chart your own trail in the business world.
