A Day In The Life Of An Internet Marketer

By Damian Papworth

I currently reside on the Gold Coast of Australia, in a tiny suburb by the name of Mermaid Beach. It resembles a big country town and is a sunny, pleasant area to live in. It's not big enough for a person to get too caught up that they forget about everyday blessings, but not too small that you lose the perks of living in a relatively populated area.

My partner and I are currently awaiting the birth of our baby, a surprise which has helped to bring us closer to one another than ever before. As I sat at home the other afternoon watching my pregnant partner's round belly, I was suddenly overwhelmed by a profound sense of gratitude: at the fact that I am able to live the life which I myself have crafted. I am no longer a commuting worker, but rather I am able to spend my time at the house with my loved ones, all thanks to having my own internet business.

Rather than driving to the office every morning, I merely get up at the hour my body chooses and head down to surf in the sea, which is no more than 2 minutes from my door. After that, once my arms can no longer handle the paddling on the board, I go to fetch a latte from my local cafe just down the road and sit down for a few short hours reviewing my sites and writing articles similar to the one you're reading now. In this way, I keep optimizing the performance of my sites and guaranteeing that tomorrow, like today, I won't have to head into an office to work.

Then, right about the time I eat lunch, the postman will pass by. This is the most exhilarating moment of the day, as he often brings me the checks that make all of this a feasible and livable job, how lucky I am!

Yet that luck, so to speak, is actually the result of a very clear process: I made sure I learned many of the skills and acquired the knowledge to be able to sell various products and kinds of services online. No doubt, in the "real" world of sales I would be a total failure as a thicker skin is needed when dealing with people in person. Yet on the internet, boy, let me tell you...

I can sell on the internet because I learned the internet marketing skills and techniques that turn websites into cash-flow machines. I learned from the masters of the day and continue to upgrade my skills whenever I can. There is no room for complacency in internet marketing!

In light of everything, it is so hard for me to comprehend how so many folks complain about their jobs or careers and yet still they do practically nothing at all to change course, to work on something they're passionate about. All it takes to do so is good planning, a lot of commitment, and the resoluteness to see things through. Oh, I think I finally know why, it's just as Thomas Edison phrased it:

"Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work."
