Imagined Pain

By Rodney Inns

This article is following on from my prior one about "Remembered Pain" so perhaps you might want to read it first. That article dealt with actual physical wounds that never seemed to heal. From my experience in practicing in hypnotherapy helping clients with issues like smoking hypnotherapy, Depression/anxiety hypnotherapy for example.

So what I am trying to say by imagined pain is that you have agony some where in your body and the doctors can find no reason for it in any fashion physically. In a number of cases the doctors have operated on some of my clients doing real aggressive surgery and the pain is still their after all the work including some new stuff due to the surgery. So the surgery was unjustified and should have not been performed! In any case there is no physical ground for the pain.

I had one client lately who had his tail bone removed because he had pain in that area, when I questioned him further it appeared the pain started when he was having difficulty with his marriage that ended in divorce. He also put on 20 kg of weight as he had no agony when he was 20 kg heavier, all with no result the agony still remained and had steadily grew in magnitude over a period of time.

After further questioning of him I discovered he had experienced lots of anxiety around this time the agony started thanks to the marriage issues. So I believe he created the agony in his body as a physical materialization of his emotional trouble.

Another common one is IBS (irritable Bowel Syndrome) there's more than enough evidence online that supports the undeniable fact that this is an emotional manifestation of a selection of physical symptoms that are grouped under the header of IBS. The advocated treatment is hypnotherapy. Try a search for IBS and Hypnotherapy you'll be presented with research on how hypnotherapy is truly the only way of treating this disorder.

So how does this work? Well when you manifest negative emotions there are a number of components to it, first off you have thoughts, beliefs combined with physical sensations in the body that create emotions and this is manifested as tenseness in the body. As an example you will tighten up muscles and other tissues in the body because of this emotion. So essentially you are storing this negative emotion in that area of the body, over a period this may increase in intensity as you ad more emotions and pain to the area by focussing on it more.

As this is an emotional problem the only way to help some one with this is by hypnotherapy, the unconscious mind needs to taught to do things a bit differently by releasing this emotion and healing the pain and physical tenseness in this area, you also could need to seek physical treatment in conjunction with this, but physical treatment by it self won't help that difficulty but may be required to help the muscles and tissues to come back to ordinary.
