Tourism Information - Saves Your Money

By Miranda Parker

If you are like millions of other people trying to make a living in this world, you know that life is not as laid back and as easy as the olden days. We all need to work hard just to make ends meet, every day feeling tired and exhausted, and never quite fulfilled. This is not a good condition to be in. With a state of mind like this, it is very difficult to give our best to our career. That is why if we can afford it, we should give ourselves the break we so deserve.

So, it's worth your while to save up every month to afford a holiday. When selecting your destination, look up places you do not ordinarily go to. Try Sharjah for a change. Being a Sharjah tourist means travelling to a Middle Eastern Arabian state that has a lot to offer.

Once in Sharjah, you will be spoilt for choice as to how best to spend your time there. If you are a museum buff, pick from among a handful of museums, many of which occupy buildings that are the place's heritage. Restored meticulously from older and grander versions, the looks of the buildings are enough to entice your senses, even before getting in them. Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization, Sharjah Heritage Museum, Sharjah Calligraphy Museum, Al-Mahattah-Museum, Sharjah Art Museum, and Sharjah Archeology Museum are the places you want to head for, each specializing in a different aspect of Arabic history, culture, and the arts.

With Mecca, which is Islam's headquarters of sorts, being rather close to Sharjah, you will find many Islamic history exhibits in the museums there. Among them are ancient Qur'ans that were handwritten during the days gone by, and a couple of rare letters that originated from the Prophet Muhammad (May Peach Be Upon Him). The letters were dedicated to world leaders of the time, in a call for them to embrace Islam. Depending on what the museum specializes in, a host of Arabic handicrafts and other local paraphernalia are also on display.

Arabic market places are also a 'must see' destination. For example, the Central Souq (or Blue Souq) is a good place to hunt for souvenirs and memorabilia that you want to take home. With around 600 shops selling designer clothes, gold, and exotic ornaments, you will be overwhelmed as to which to pick! There are also carpets that have made their way from Afganistan for you to choose from.
