The Correct Way To Punt Like Matt Dodge

There are a lot of loved sports globally and football is part of them. Punting looks so easy to everyone but is quite tricky. If you follow these steps correctly, you will be capable of punting like Matt Dodge.

It is important to start stretching before indulging in sports. Have a jog or do some in-place exercises. Since this game would most likely need a lot of your leg strength, be sure to stretch out your legs properly.

The proper way of holding the ball is to use both of your hands. Your right hand must be on the lower back in the right side. This will make your left hand on the front of the middle left side.

When kicking, position your foot by advancing a step and let your right foot follow. It does not have to be in hat exact arrangement since it would depend if the player is right or left handed. Swing your leg just when you have gently drop the ball. Remember to maintain your balance on the ground. You will need correct angling when positioning your foot while kicking. These are important in punting. The middle part of ones foot shall strike it on its left side.

A follow through must be done. It is when your right leg continues to swing upward approaching your forehead after you kick. You should also move forward after kicking it. Though you will probably be knocked down by a defender by the other team, that is okay since that is part of the game.

You will not have a perfect punt in your first try. For you to perfect the steps, repeat them over a thousand times. Since this will include angling your kick, it will be helpful if you study them. It is better to practice in a wide field to avoid accidents.

After a long tiresome practice, your muscles may ache. Even if you have done a lot of stretching exercise, your body will still have strains but with lesser pain compared if one completely did not do stretches. Ace your punts by religiously practicing, similar to Matt Dodge. If you are the type who does not exercise often or gets weak easily, do not attempt to over do the game. It can cause you injuries.
