There is a genre to suit every personality from the romantic to the morbid and short stories are a wonderful way to embrace and explore this. Choose one that has a collection of different themes and types to help the reader discover what they are passionate about. There are so many undiscovered writers that are featured on websites and are certainly worth a read.

Some forms of poetry are also very interesting to read and can warm the heart on a miserable day. Always have a quick read through the verses to see if it is suitable as choosing poetry is a very personal experience. Be wary of titles as the inner theme may not always be made obvious by the title.
