American writer Lee Whitnum has gained popularity in the US political scene with her controversial criticisms of US Israeli aid. Her debut was on 2008, where she was defeated by Jim Himes for the Congressional seat of the Fourth District of Connecticut. She severely criticizes the actions of American military on Palestinian lands.
Many critics regard her actions as progressive. She is against the War on Terrorism led by the American government in Iraq. She genuinely believes that the AIPAC is using political method to help influence American foreign policy.
Most of her testimonies are clearly anti-AIPAC. There are even those that she wrote in her website that shows her disagreement with AIPAC clearly. Some of these statements are branded with accusations against this organization.
Her greatest political endeavor is centered on informing the public of the importance of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It also centers on the United States' role in it.
