People say we should be spending more time living in the moment instead of worrying about what is happening tomorrow.
No argument from me on that one, I believe it's important to savour the precious moments, and every new sunrise.
And I say this as someone who dislike the use of cliches. Words like Living in the NOW, Living in the Moment are a little too corny for me, in everyday speak, but whether I like them or not cliches are cliches because they are usually true.
It's a pretty short life down here on earth, and our role so minor anyway. The little things that scare us will ultimately disappear soon anyway.
It is our mission, to be the best we can be, with the life we have been given, and not worry about the outcome.
We can't spend all our time worrying that we might get cancer, or stressing out about our children getting hurt. We can easily consume ourselves with grief and anxiety at the thought of something bad happening to us.
It is important to think about tomorrow, as we all need something to strive for in the quest to live our life the best way we possibly can.
If we don't have direction, we can easily get lost.
Tomorrow is very important, however it should be seen as a way of inspiring us to become even better.
What happened in the past matters too, because it's important to learn the lessons, and remember the good times. However the past should not be something that holds us back.
But what really matters, is what is happening right now. Living in the moment, not wasting our time worrying and reflecting.
People often say, if you wish for something often enough, or think about something often enough, you will end up getting it, whether you want it or not.
Same if you focus on failure. If you think you are going to fail that important exam, or convince yourself you are not going to get through the job interview or impress your audience in a business presentation, you probably wont.
Fear can knock our confidence for six. It has the ability to invade our minds and shut us down in an instant.
It is only because of our own self-confidence that we allow fear to overcome us.
FEAR can only pick on those who are vulnerable, stand up and he is nothing.
This is not about turning our backs on the danger signs. No, whilst it's great to have a positive outlook, we also need to balanced in our thinking.
An optimistic view, with a dash of reality is good, rather than a pessimistic view.
The best approach when you first get started in your home business, is to be a pragmatic optimist. It's also good to have a non-attachment mentality, where you realise that if you are consistent and competent, you will succeed anyway.
So you see worrying about possible outcomes is pointless.
Believe in yourself, and just be the best you can be. You can only control what is happening right now.
We can't control what happens tomorrow, so you might just as well accept it and enjoy today.
Live for today, without FEAR.
If you fall at the first hurdle, pick yourself up and continue.
I believe we would all be happier just living in the moment.
