Bible Lessons For Youth Groups

By Myra Cocker

The bible lessons for youth group leaders to teach their group members should concentrate on handling responsibility with maturity and relying on a strong faith in God when things look bad. Many stories tell the tale in a round-about way, showing through the misdeeds of others what not to do. It also has many encouraging tales of valor and honor. The very first story learned, that of Adam and Eve, is that of obedience and knowing the difference between right and wrong.

The story of Cain and Abel shows how jealousy and envy should not control a person's actions. One should never try to get what someone else has through devious or hateful means. The lesson is that you should work hard for what you have in life and not wish you had what someone else has worked hard to obtain.

The story of Noah's Ark is intended to let children understand what can be accomplished when someone has faith. Noah not only felt faith in the Lord but also faith in himself. Despite his wavering confidence and the fact that others would mock him for his beliefs, he would continue vigilantly on in his faith of the Lord.

The story of the Whale that swallowed Jonah is one that is known wide and far. This story shows that when you have faith in God, you can turn your life around and become a better person. Most of the stories that are in this book represent how it is possible to show faith in God and live a life that reflects that faith.

Group leaders can download particular studies and sessions from various websites online. Some offer free studies that can be spread out over several weeks or months. The ultimate goal of any study group is to learn as much about spirituality, maturity, responsibility and compassion for others, among many other positive traits. Group leaders should always be encouraging, working to motivate younger people to maintain a healthy, strong faith in God.

The bible lessons for youth groups are there to encourage children to have faith in the Lord. Additional activities, ideas, and workshops can be found on the Internet that help youth group leaders. The workshops teach in fun and entertaining ways to keep the attention of young people everywhere.
