Why Is It A Must To Express Curiosity?

By Romeo T Charles

Was there ever a time when you saw a movie, and you came out impressed? Why is it a good movie? You can tell it is a wonderful movie when it takes you on a smooth ride, and the story slowly unravels right before your eyes through visual imagery and wonderful storytelling. In most occasions, when audiences are caught off guard because of an unexpected twist in the story line, they are often left impressed. People, who go in a movie theater with knowledge of what the story is about, may find the movie boring.

There seems to be a parallel between movies and life. We live our life with a goal"to know the answers to our questions. Was there an instance when the answer you got was not the answer you had in mind? As a result, we end up with a gaping hole that makes us more perplexed than before. Similar to the movies, what is exciting about life is the fact that we are often challenged to learn using our inductive logic.

Scientist and writer Keith Raniere has written about the scientific process, and about the significance of questions. He holds that the value of science (and life) has more to do with intensifying our questions than just getting answers.

That resonates with me. When I look back at the people I am familiar with, it is safe to say that the happiest ones are often those who were able to discover answers to their own questions. They are the ones who have been through tough times and have emerged a winner and a wiser person.

If I analyze the life I have lived, I can say that there is a certain excitement and a sense of accomplishment associated with me overcoming challenges and finding answers to my questions. I feel unaccomplished each time a problem was solved by someone other than myself for the reason that I had it easy, and that I did not gain any new knowledge from it.

Here are information on how you can be skillful in asking questions and how this can change your life for better. Some organizations, like NXIVM and Executive Success Programs (both Raniere's), assist people learn how to think, not what to think. Improving our critical thinking skills and reasoning skills can guide us better in the way we navigate through life.
